Heavy rain caused a large section of this California road to collapse, leaving a large gaping hole.<br/> It had been closed to pedestrians and traffic after cracks expanded at the rate of four inches a day over the last few months.<br/> On Sunday, a 274 meter portion of the road south of Los Angeles fell into the Pacific Ocean.<br/> Residents have been warned to stay away from the road as it remains unstable.<br/> Marie-Claire Fennessy, Reuters.
