Smoke filled the streets of Bahrain's capital on Thursday. Anti-government protesters were sent scrambling as police fired tear gas at the crowd.<br/> Earlier in the day,some 10,000 people took to the streets demanding reform as they carried the coffin of a fellow activist killed in protests the day before.<br/> Some wrapped themselves in the flag as the march wound its way through Manama. The protest comes on the heels of a new report claiming Bahrain's government used harsh and abusive practices to squelch protests.<br/> SOUNDBITE: ACTIVIST, Alaa Shahabi saying:<br/> "There is ongoing violence, there are ongoing abuses, there is a complete lack of faith that the government will even read the report let alone implement the recommendations, and I for one, my husband has been in jail for 4 months."<br/> The inquiry by a prominent international rights attorney said nearly 3,000 people were arrested and as many as 4,000 lost their jobs after the uprising earlier this year.<br/> Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
