Cars here are parked with next to no space between them. You would think dents and dings are a big problem, but the people who work there say no way.<br /><br />It is an ordinary parking lot in southwest China's city of Chengdu, but it's also extraordinary in that its 5400-square-foot space is cramped, incredibly, with more than 70 vehicles, averaging 75 square feet per car.<br />Cars are parked bumper to bumper at the parking lot located by the side of an office building near the Mozi Bridge.<br /><br />The 5400-square-foot parking lot has in fact about 50 parking spaces, but now accommodates more than 70 cars, according to lot staff.<br />The staff navigate cars into spaces less that half an inch from other vehicles.<br /><br />"Only one scrape accident has occurred over the past year."<br /><br />Surrounded by several commercial buildings, the parking lot is situated in the downtown area where parking space is in dire shortage. The parking lot is set to be renovated soon.
