Destruction at a fruit and vegetable market in the Iraqi town of Khalis.<br/> A car bomb in this mainly Shi'ite area killed at least ten people and wounded over 25.<br/> The explosion left a crater in the ground and a number of destroyed vehicles.<br/> There've been other recent attacks in the area.<br/> (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MUTHNA AL-TAMIMI, HEAD OF SECURITY COMMITTEE IN DIYALA PROVINCIAL COUNCIL:<br/> "There have been a number of attempts targeting the security situation in our beloved province. Yesterday there was an attack on Baldrouz town and this morning there was a car bomb attack in Khalis. This attack led to a number of people being killed and injured."<br/> Khalis is in a province which is an al-Qaeda stronghold just north east of Baghdad.<br/> The attack here highlights the country's fragile security situation as the U.S. withdraws its troops and leaves a rebuilt Iraqi security force to take over.<br/> Simon Hanna, Reuters.
