Mexico's navy found 1.2 tonnes of marijuana in an abandoned boat in the Gulf of California.<br/> An aerial patrol spotted the boat, which was was stranded near Angel de la Guardia island, containing 100 sacks of marijuana.<br/> The Gulf of California is known to be an ideal transit corridor for traffickers moving narcotics north towards Mexico's border with the U.S.<br/> Much of the trafficking in the area is allegedly controlled by Joaquin Guzman, alias El Chapo.
