Japan in radiation milk recall

Four hundred thousand tins of this baby milk are being recalled by its Japanese makers because of radioactivity.<br/> Meiji Holdings, one of the countries biggest milk producers, says it's found radioactive cesium in the product.<br/> The levels of cesium are within government safe limits but the firm has launched a voluntary recall.<br/> The product is sold only in Japan where parents appeared happy with the steps being taken.<br/> SOUNDBITE: Yukinori Hashimoto, parent, saying (Japanese):<br/> "I think there is no need to be concerned because the levels of radiation are below the safety limit. I am personally not worried as the company is already taking action to solve the problem."<br/> SOUNDBITE: Masumi Uenoyama, parent, saying (Japanese):<br/> "My child used to drink powdered milk when he was younger so as a parent I understand the concerns of others."<br/> Worries over the safety of food have been a big issue in Japan after the March 11 quake and tsunami that led to the worst nuclear accident in quarter of a century.<br/> Radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant spread over large areas of north and eastern Japan.<br/> Meiji says it doesn't know how the cesium got into the powdered milk but suspects material from the Fukushima accident as the source.<br/> Paul Chapman, Reuters
