Brazil Land Ownership: Rui's claim to Paradise

2011-12-12 35 Dailymotion

Two thirds of Brazil's land is owned by just 3% of the population. Much of it lies unused, while millions of poor Brazilians have nothing. Under the Brazilian constitution, land which is not being used can be claimed for redistribution to people who have none. Christian Aid's partner MST is the largest social movement in Latin America. So far, they have helped more than one million poor landless Brazilians to get land. Rui Barbosa (62), who made this film, is just one of them.
