What is Christianity About?<br />'Living Free' Series: http://www.ydyc.org/watch/living-free/<br />Session 1 Part 2: http://www.ydyc.org/media/video/living-free-series/session-one/what-is-christianity-about/<br /><br />Who or What is a Christian?<br />- A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity.<br />- Christianity is God reaching down to mankind.<br /><br />Christianity teaches that Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, resurrected, and thereby offers salvation to all who will receive him by faith.<br /><br />In the Bible we read, "We aren't saved from sin's grasp by knowing the commandments of God, because we can't and don't keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours - except that ours are sinful - and destroyed sin's control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins." (Romans 8:3)<br /><br />Christianity is a way of life based upon God's love and acceptance and one's love for him.<br /><br />I love it when my loving Heavenly Father knows what I need before I even ask. It was a Friday and my husband and I had prayed that if God wanted us to attend a conference in another city, we would need him to miraculously supply the money by Monday.<br /><br />One hour after I prayed, the phone rang and I mentioned my prayer request to my daughter. She said, "I'm sorry Mum that I didn't tell you before, but someone gave me money yesterday, saying that God had told them that you would need money for travel."
