A New Zealand Air Force Hercules aircraft takes off from Christchurch to deliver pumps and fuel to a Russian ship stranded in Antarctica.<br/> The 48-metre ship, with a crew of 32, became trapped in the ice last Friday and began taking on water through a hole in its hull.<br/> Nearby ships will take several days to arrive and help with the rescue.<br/> On Monday, the Russian crew said they needed more supplies flown in, a mission which will be co-ordinated by the New Zealand Air Force.<br/> Nick Rowlands, Reuters
