Whenever a new startup entry or product is in the works, its creator face an age–old dilemma, the Name Game. For most of us, it’s hard enough just to come up with a convincing name and to commit to it. And it gets that much harder when you consider adding another all important layer choosing a Domain Name. In the past, many successful entrepreneurs simply picked a name that would result in the most concise, original sounding dot com: Ergo, Google, and Yahoo. But that was then. So, is your Domain Name still a make or break issue? Twitter co–founder Evan Williams doesn’t think so. Here’s the deal, we agreed that search engines, auto complete, and mobile apps are all making domain names less important than they used to be. But that doesn’t mean they’re still not pretty darn important.
