Egypt's disgraced former President Hosni Mubarak is wheeled into court on a gurney.
Mubarak, his two sons and senior officials face charges relating to corruption during his three decades in office and the deaths of hundreds of protesters as it came to an end.
The trial resumed on Wednesday following a delay of almost two months as lawyers for the families of those killed called for the presiding judge to be replaced.
They argued he gave them inadequate time to question Field Marshal Tantawi who heads Egypt's ruling army council. The request was rejected.
One of these lawyers said it may be difficult to prove that Mubarak gave the order to fire on protesters.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) LAWYER FOR FAMILIES OF THOSE KILLED, SAYED FATHI, SAYING:
"But what is proven and certain is that Mubarak knew that there were people being killed and injured on the streets of Cairo from January 25th on, and he had the power to stop these events. And he could have stopped the killing and the firing of live bullets on protesters but he did not do so."
Around 850 people were killed in the 18-day uprising that overthrew Mubarak in February.
The hearing was delayed until next Monday.
Lily Grimes, Reuters
