At least five people died and nearly a dozen were injured when the roof of a building collapsed in a suburban area of New Delhi on Wednesday.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but it's believed a cooking gas cylinder set off the collapse.
The cylinder is thought to have exploded while a group of labourers were cooking their breakfast.
The injured are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
Many buildings in India fail to conform to standard safety regulations, with owners building extra floors or additions without approval.
In November 2010 a five-storey residential building collapsed in the capital, killing at least 60 people.
Travis Brecher, Reuters
