Five Europeans killed in Ethiopia

Gunmen in Ethiopia killed five European tourists and kidnapped four people on Tuesday.<br/> Two Germans, two Hungarians and an Austrian died in the attack.<br/> Another two Germans were among those kidnapped.<br/> Eleven survivors still wearing their trekking clothes were taken to Addis Ababa from Mekele.<br/> Ethiopian media said the victims were from a group of 27 people, which included other nationalities.<br/> The attack took place in the remote Afar region in northern Ethiopia - where separatist rebels have operated.<br/> Ethiopia blames its neighbour and arch enemy Eritrea for the killing, saying it had trained and armed the gunmen who were responsible.<br/> Afar is one the harshest terrains on earth.
