Lucky to be alive.<br/> David Pickering is Australia's second shark attack survivor in as many days.<br/> The 26-year-old snorkel instructor was leading a small snorkeling group off the west coast of the country, when he was mauled by a three-meter tiger shark.<br/> (SOUNDBITE) DAVID PICKERING, SHARK ATTACK VICTIM SAYING(English):<br/> "Deep water, sort of murky and it actually attacked me from the front which is pretty, pretty unusual."<br/> Despite suffering serious damage to his right arm, he swam hundreds of meters to the safety of the shore.<br/> Here on the east coast of Australia, a 44-year-old man was attacked by what is believed to be a great white shark.<br/> Glen Folkard had been surfing off Redhead beach near Newcastle.<br/> (SOUNDBITE)GLEN FOLKARD, SHARK ATTACK VICTIM SAYING(English):<br/> "He stuck his teeth in down near the knee and come out up here...so there's a big "c" shape in there."<br/> Folkard had surgery on his upper leg and torso, and will have a further operation on Friday.<br/> Marie-Claire Fennessy, Reuters
