The probability of a war between Israel and its enemies over the next year is low, military intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin said Monday. adding that the world is waiting to see how the financial crisis plays out, and how the new US administration deals with the threat from Iran. The IslamicRepublic remains Israel's main threat he noted. Yadlin said Syrian President Assad is willing to reach a peace agreement, if Israel and the United States give him what he wants. Assad wants Israel to withdraw to the 1967 borders and a package from the US that guarantees his regime's stability, and one that will provide him with economic and military support the Israeli military intelligence chief said.Y
