Two of the major creators in Israeli fringe theatre, Shlomo Plesner and Ido Burenstein, are launching these days a new theatre group which is composed by male actors only. The group is called "Here Theater" and deals with social sensitive issues such as homosexuality, violence and the Arab Israeli conflict. Plesner and Burnshten, a couple in real life, are now working on a new play called "Dogs"- a tragic comedy of lonely souls seeking sexual comfort yet find themselves unloading their violent instincts instead. The two confessed the difficulty of producing such a play that integrates sensitive issues like Israeli Arabic conflict and homosexuality. They stated that actors either backed out one by one or reacted to each other with quarrel. Eventually they were lucky enough to find the right group of players that were open and comfortable enough to dramatically merge with such deep and sensitive issues.
