Numerous events are being held in Jerusalem over the Succot holiday, from visiting the four species market in the capital, to attending arts and crafts fairs or taking part in the annual Jerusalem march. If you still haven't finished decorating your Succah then check out the Four Species Market held adjacent to Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda market. It opened on October 9 and will remain open until the start of the holiday eve on October 12. There you can purchase the date palm myrtle, willow and citron or etrog as well as colorful decorations for the Succah. On Friday you can visit the colorful Bezalel Arts Fair street festival where artists display their crafts. The fair is open from morning until mid afternoon and is located between the Schatz pedestrian mall, Bezalel Road and the Schieber Park opposite the Hamashbir Department store located on King George Street. If you want to keep the kids busy then take them to the Jerusalem Museum's Youth Wing where they have an array of activities for children from aged three and up. The Tower of David Museum is also another exciting venue to visit and over Succot they have arranged a number of events including the ancient water drawing festival of Temple times. If you plan on visiting Jerusalem on Tuesday October 18, you will be able to view the annual Jerusalem march. This year an estimated 10,000 foreigners from 40 different countries are expected to participate in the march in addition to Israelis. Those participating in the march can choose three different routes to reach Jerusalem, and from 10 to 3pm an extravaganza is planned at Sacher Park. The central parade will take place in King George Street in the afternoon and will end at the Old Train Station parking lot. In the evening performances are planned at stages placed throughout the city with the main one on King David Street.
