ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> STORY: A fire has seriously damaged a 19th Century church in southern Ukraine, after breaking out during repair work on Thursday (January 26).<br/> The 50 meter-high church, which had been under renovation for two years, caught fire in the early morning.<br/> Firefighters, who doused the flames by the afternoon, managed to save several icons and precious items but could not save the dome, which collapsed.<br/> Local media said the fire may have broken out as a result of a violation of safety regulations in the renovation work.<br/> The landmark Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in the Black Sea port of Odessa was founded in 1820 in the village of Tabaki, today known as Bolgrad.
