A series of deadly gun attacks hit Pakistan's southern city of Karachi.<br/> At least six people were killed in separate incidents across the city.<br/> The wife, daughter and driver of a Baluchistan lawmaker were shot dead on their way home early Tuesday.<br/> A few hours earlier, three people were killed in other parts of Karachi.<br/> A city of more than 18 million, Karachi has a long history of violence - and ethnic and religious disputes, as well as political rows - can often explode into battles engulfing entire neighbourhoods.<br/> Last year alone more than 1,600 people were killed in either political and sectarian violence, or by drug dealers, 'mafia' hitmen and extortionists.<br/> Travis Brecher, Reuters
