Flood waters continue to rise in Australia's Queensland state, which has killed at least one person.<br/> <br />The town of St. George has been inundated and about 2,500 people were evacuated.<br/> <br />Authorities expect a nearby river to reach a record level of 14 metres or higher.<br/> <br />The local council has been building a levee approximately four kilometres long to protect the town.<br/> <br />It is expected to hold.<br/> <br />But forecast says flooding is expected to continue for weeks in some areas.<br/> <br />Sophia Soo, Reuters.
