ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: A Santiago subway train suddenly derailed near a children's playground Wednesday, smashing parked vehicles and colliding into a nearby apartment building.<br/> <br />The Metro train was not in service at the time of the accident and was carrying no passengers as it made its way to an above ground storage facility.<br/> <br />No injuries were immediately reported, but local media reports said the conductor was in a "state of shock" and taken in for a check up.<br/> <br />Residents living in the damaged apartment building said it was a miracle nobody was hurt on the ground especially considering the park were children often play.<br/> <br />The out of service train was approaching a warehouse where trains are kept when it continued beyond the tracks apparently still at high speed.<br/> <br />Santiago Metro workers were investigating the cause of the accident.<br/> <br />Four vehicles in an adjacent parking lot were either damaged or destroyed in the accident.
