The Afghan Taliban says it carried out a car bomb attack at Jalalabad airport in eastern Afghanistan that's killed at least three people.<br/> <br />The militants said the bombing at the airport gates was in revenge for the burning of copies of the Koran at a NATO air base.<br/> <br />Police say the dead were civilians.<br/> <br />At least 15 other people have been wounded in the attack.<br/> <br />The bombing on Monday came after a week of violent protests across the country over the destruction of copies of the Muslim holy book.<br/> <br />Muslims consider the Koran to be the literal word of God and treat each copy with deep reverence.<br/> <br />Desecration is considered one of the worst forms of blasphemy.<br/> <br />Paul Chapman, Reuters
