Despite his upbringing in a neighborhood where violence and crime was the norm <br />Adam Tensta refused to take the path of many of his peers. Instead of delinquency he found sanctuary in music. <br />To honor his roots, Adam took "Tensta" as his artist name. <br />Adam Tensta excludes alcohol, cigarettes and drugs from his lifestyle. He is a representative for the Save the Children Sweden and an ambassador for Alla Olika Alla Lika, a youth campaign against racism, prejudice and discrimination in Sweden. He is also a socialist, and performed at the Swedish leftist party Vänsterpartiet's 1 May celebration in Stockholm 2010. <br />Adam Tensta has opened for artists like Jay-Z, Youssou N'Dour, Akon, Dead Prez and Rihanna. <br />His song "My Cool" was also featured in the HBO Series Entourage (Season 7, Episode 7).
