http://www.nma.tv<br /><br />Flat-pack furniture king IKEA has come under scrutiny in France after it reportedly used private detectives to check up on disgruntled customers.<br /><br />One couple who waited more than three months for delivery of a kitchen and toilet were forced to move into a bed and breakfast. <br /><br />According to reports, when they tried to claim compensation from the furniture giant IKEA allegedly employed a private detective to investigate their "morality", looking into their telephone and police records.<br /><br />Staff at the company's French stores have also accused it of creating a climate of fear ad using cameras to spy on staff, a claim that the company has denied.<br /><br />In response to the negative publicity, IKEA announced an investigation into the allegations.
