That doesn't mean he has amnesia."<br/> <br />U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Bales is suspected of walking off his base in southern Afghanistan on March 11 and gunning down the 16 civilians, including nine children.<br/> <br />He is being kept in solitary confinement at the Fort Leavenworth military detention centre.<br/> <br />Bales has not yet been charged.<br/> <br />Sophia Soo, Reuters.
