A day in the life of Orland Junior High 7th Grade Band from Orland Park, Illinois, under the direction of Eli Heitmanek, preparing, practicing, and performing at the Illinois Grade School Music Association District VI Band Contest (IGSMA) held at Manhattan Junior High School. Contest judges evaluate the bands on intonation, tone quality, how the ensemble’s sound is balanced, interpretation and musicianship. Fluency of technique, rhythmic accuracy and stage presentation are also taken into consideration by the judges. Sixteen Bands participated on March 17th, 2012. Orland Junior High 7th Grade Band received a First Place Rating.
