Colombian authorities collect the remains of 34 FARC rebels in a remote jungle region of the South American country.<br/> <br />The operation comes a day after troops attacked a guerilla encampment, killing 36 insurgents.<br/> <br />The bodies were collected from near Vista Hermosa, and brought to a military base aboard four Black Hawk helicopters.<br/> <br />The remaining two bodies were not retrieved because they were almost completely destroyed in the attack.<br/> <br />The offensive was the second recent blow to the drug-funded rebels.<br/> <br />Last week, 33 guerillas were killed in a separate operation.<br/> <br />The attacks come as part of a new military strategy to fight the Marxist guerillas by destroying their key armed and financial units, marking a shift from the previous focus of tracking down and killing their leaders.<br/> <br />Travis Brecher, Reuters
