Some six months after a revolt ended Muammar Gaddafi's rule, the fighting still goes on in parts of Libya.

At least 14 are dead in Western Libya after fighters from two towns battled each other for four days. Hundreds have been wounded in the clashes.

According to one account, a group of men out hunting game accidentally shot a man from another village. The hunters were detained, some people say mistreated, setting off the violence.

Others says the fight was over support for former leader Gaddafi.

Analysts say the new government's ability to intervene is limited with its own modest security force out-gunned by militias who answer only to their own commanders.

Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
