After scoring a Grammy and selling 15 million albums worldwide, soul singer Macy Gray took a break from the music scene.<br/> <br />But now she's back and she's taking her unique raspy voice in a new direction.<br/> <br />For Gray's sixth album "Covered" the singer put her own spin on 10 of her favorite songs.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Macy Gray, singer, saying:<br/> <br />"I came up with this idea to do covers of famous rock songs, modern ones, because I figured if I did a solo album of R&B, everyone would expect that already, and it turns out I'm a huge rock and roll fan anyway, so I just picked ten of my favorite songs, then we went in and totally redid them, it was pretty awesome, it was a great, great experience, we had a ball."<br/> <br />While Gray names Lady Gaga, Wiz Khalifa and The Black Keys as some of the artists she admires, Kanye West is the one person she's eager to work with.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Macy Gray, singer, saying:<br/> <br />"As an artist, he has some really great things to say about his perspective on things, and I like his personality, I like his arrogance.
