Syrian troops appear to be holding their fire hours after a U.N.-backed ceasefire took effect at dawn.<br/> <br />Amateur video posted to a social website which Reuters cannot independently verify shows government tanks sitting outside the town of Bayanoun.<br/> <br />Armed men in military uniforms said to belong to Syrian army appeared to be keeping watch from a rooftop in Ankhel. Government tanks also appeared to be stationed in at least one part of Hama.<br/> <br />Despite the appearance of relative calm, a source in the government says the the Syrian army will retaliate if there are any attacks on civilians or soldiers.<br/> <br />Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
