ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION).<br/> <br />Christian worshippers in the Middle East marked Easter Sunday (April 15) with a procession into the faith's most sacred site in Jerusalem and Sunday mass at an Orthodox church in the Gaza Strip.<br/> <br />Thousands of pilgrims walked towards the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem's Old City for a mass to mark the resurrection of Jesus. The Church is believed to be the site where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected.<br/> <br />Local Christians were joined by pilgrims from all over the world in a procession towards the church led by Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos III.<br/> <br />In the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, a small community of Palestinian Christians convened for mass with prayers and hymns in a local church.<br/> <br />Easter Sunday marks the culmination of Holy Week, which begins with Palm Sunday and commemorates the time worshippers Jesus was resurrected three days after his death by crucifixion.
