ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />The space shuttle Discovery is preparing for its last mission.<br/> <br />Final preparations are underway at NASA's Kennedy Space Center on Monday (April 16) as the famous Discovery prepares for its final voyage: Not into space, but to be taken by piggyback on Tuesday (April 17) to an annex of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum outside Washington, D.C.<br/> <br />The oldest of NASA's retired shuttle fleets will be taken on top a Boeing 747 across the eastern coast of the United States and will swoop over the National Mall in Washington before becoming a permanent museum display.<br/> <br />The public will be able to get their first up-close look starting April 19th.
