Shirley MacLaine won't miss Dick Clark's dogs

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY:<br/> <br />Actress Shirley MacLaine has never been a shrinking violet in her career, playing cantankerous women in films like "Steel Magnolias" and "Terms of Endearment."<br/> <br />And it appears she is no shrinking violet in real life, too.<br/> <br />Speaking to Reuters at a screening for her latest film, dark comedy "Bernie," she commented on the death of iconic television mainstay Dick Clark.<br/> <br />"Well now I can walk past his house in Malibu and his dogs won't attack mine. That's one good thing," said MacLaine, next to a clearly uncomfortable Jack Black.<br/> <br />Clark worked in television and radio for over six decades, rising to fame hosting music variety show "American Bandstand" and "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" since 1974.<br/> <br />He died at age 82 Wednesday (April 18) at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, after suffering a heart attack.
