Amateur video out of Syria appears to show no let up in the bombardment of Homs.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters, comes a day after Syria and the UN signed an agreement setting out working conditions for hundreds of observers to monitor a ceasefire.

While the ceasefire appears to have taken hold in parts of the country, in rebel strongholds there few signs of relief.

In other parts of the country demonstrators take to the streets burning a Russian flag. The uprising in Syria has divided world powers with Russia and China supporting President Bashar al-Assad while many Western countries have condemned his regime.

More footage, purportedly from Damascus, shows demonstrators back on the street. They burn a picture of Assad.

The United Nations estimates that more than 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began more than a year ago. On Friday Syrian State TV reported that 10 government security forces were killed by a roadside bomb.

Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
