Detainees defer entering plea

The five men accused of plotting the September 11th attacks appeared in front of a military tribunal Saturday in Guantanamo Bay Cuba.<br/> <br />But instead of answering when the judge asked them questions, they remained silent.<br/> <br />The five are charged with seven counts stemming from the 9/11 attacks including hijacking and terrorism.<br/> <br />All five defendants exercised their right to delay entering any plea.<br/> <br />During the recesses, the defendants prayed and chatted amongst themselves, and passed around a copy of The Economist magazine.<br/> <br />A group of people whose relatives died in the attacks were chosen by lottery to attend the proceedings.<br/> <br />The tribunal has been adjourned until June 12.<br/> <br />Julie Noce, Reuters
