The first pictures of a Russian jet that crashed into a mountain south of Jakarta have emerged.<br/> <br />Debris from the plane could be seen on Mount Salak in West Java Indonesia Thursday.<br/> <br />Officials say there were up to 50 people on board.<br/> <br />Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yuudhoyono.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE)(Bahasa Indonesia) INDONESIA PRESIDENT SUSILO BAMBANG YUDHOYONO, SAYING:<br/> <br />"The airplane crashed at the edge of Salak mountain. I have spoken directly to our officer in the field, it was found around 1.5 kilometers from the predicted site. An investigation must be done immediately and thoroughly. Search and rescue operations must prioritise finding people on board."<br/> <br />The Sukhoi Superjet 100 was on a demonstration flight and was carrying Indonesian businessmen, Russian embassy officials and journalists.<br/> <br />The aircraft is being marketed internationally in partnership with a subsidiary of Italian aerospace group, Finmeccanica<br/> <br />Julie Noce, Reuters
