Doctors in the US are using advances in technology and virtual reality to help burns victims suffering high levels of pain and discomfort.<br /><br />Patients can escape into the virtual reality of games like "Snow World", with brain scans done on patients who have used the therapy showing a decrease in pain-related brain activity.<br /><br />The virtual reality game is currently being studied and evaluated in eight hospitals around the US.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds reports from Galveston, Texas.
