Tens of thousands of public sector workers in Britain thronged the streets of London on Thursday to protest against the government's austerity proposals.<br /><br />The unions say the government's new proposals will mean more work and contributions for a reduced pension.<br /><br />The one-day strike caused massive disruption across the country, from schools to airports to courthouses.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Tim Friend reports from London.
