The economic cost of the revolution in Tunisia has been high.<br /><br />Direct foreign investment has dropped by a quarter since the fall of President Zine Al Abidine Ben Ali in January. Income from tourism has fallen by half.<br /><br />But as Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports from Kairouan province in Tunisia, it is the rural areas that have been hit the hardest.
