As the uprising against the rule of Bashar al-Assad in Syria enters its 12th month, thousands of Iraqis who fled their own country are now starting to return home.<br /><br />During the worst of the violence caused by the US-led war in Iraq, almost a million Iraqis crossed over to Syria, some of them registering with the UN refugee agency in the hope of being resettled.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad on how many are now giving up that dream.
