No pulse or beat for new, better artificial heart

Two doctors in the US say they have developed an artificial heart that will let people live longer.<br /><br />Instead of pumping blood around the body like a human heart, the device spins the patient's blood around the body, using centrifugal force.<br /><br />It also means a patient using with the new machine will not have a heartbeat or a pulse.<br /><br />The doctors say their continuous-flow pump will last longer because it has fewer moving parts than artificial hearts.<br /><br />Al Jazeera speaks to William Cohn, one of the doctors who developed the device at the Texas Heart Institute.
