Seventy years after the the end of the Spanish civil war, British war veterans who fought in the conflict have been rewarded with Spanish citizenships.<br /><br />The veterans fought against the regime of Francisco Franco, the Spanish dictator, in a war which left about 500,000 people dead.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Nazanine Moshiri reports from the ceremony in London, where seven pensioners received Spanish passports.
