A rare chance for the people of Myanmar to vote for a new parliament has passed. It is the first time they have been to the polls in 20 years.<br /><br />But whatever the result, it will have little impact on the dominance of the country's military government.<br /><br />Critics say the vote was never going to be free and fair, but it is difficult to know the truth when election observers and journalists are banned from the country.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's special correspondent reports from Yangon.
