Australian Dominic Jude Christopher Bird is brought to court in Kuala Lumpur to face drugs charges.<br/> <br />The 32-year-old is accused of drug trafficking and drug consumption.<br/> <br />Conviction carries a mandatory death sentence in Malaysia.<br/> <br />Bird's lawyer says he's been mistreated in custody.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: SHAFEE ABDULLAH, BIRD'S LAWYER, SAYING (English):<br/> <br />"I use the word 'somewhat' because the intention was not to assault him but to humiliate him, you know, like slapping his head or putting boxes on his head and things like that. But that would amount to, as you know, assault, that would amount to mistreatment.
