According to Chinese government figures, trade between China and Africa has risen by more than 33 per cent annually this decade.<br /><br />Last year, the volume of two-way trade almost hit $107bn.<br /><br />Resource rich and boasting a market potential of 800 million people, Africa is a key destination for Chinese investment.<br /><br />In the first nine months of this year alone, Beijing invested more than $7.8bn in the continent.<br /><br />Al Jazeera interviewed Frank Sieren in Beijing, an author and journalist who made a documentary on the booming ties between China and Africa.
