After a month-long negotiation, 189 members of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) have agreed on new steps towards nuclear disarmament.<br /><br />But not everyone is entirely happy with the final statement.<br /><br />Barack Obama, the US president, says while he welcomes the agreement, Washington is strongly opposed to Israel being singled out.<br /><br />But the US backed the deal anyway, for fear of the NPT collapsing.<br /><br />From the United Nations in New York, Kristen Saloomey reports.
