Malaysia has pledged to improve the welfare of domestic workers employed in its households, where many more than 300,000 women from neighbouring Indonesia work as maids.<br /><br />Indonesian officials say about 1,000 of those women experience abuse annually in Malaysia.<br /><br />But as Al Jazeera's Step Vaessen reports, the cases of abuse have not deterred many Indonesian women from wanting to make the move.
