Muammar Gaddafi has been killed after National Transitional Council fighters overran loyalist defences in Sirte, the toppled Libyan leader's hometown and final stronghold.<br /><br />After weeks of fierce gun battles, fighters captured the city of Sirte and killed the former strongman, who reportedly died in gun battle. <br /><br />Gaddafi's body was taken to a location which is being kept secret for security reasons.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports from Sirte, Libya.
