In Afghanistan, the treatment of a rape victim is drawing international attention to the plight of women. <br /><br />The woman, known as 'Gulnaz', was raped by a relative - and then jailed for having sex out of wedlock.<br /><br />She has now been pardoned by Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, but is understood to be facing pressure to marry the man who abused her.<br /><br />Kimberley Motley, Gulnaz's lawyer, told Al Jazeera her pardon is an important precedent for the rights of Afghan women.
