Calls for neutral probe into Papua mine deaths

A series of unsolved murders on the private property of one of the world's biggest gold and copper mines has left nine people dead since September.<br /><br />President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono blames the independence movement for the killings.<br /><br />After a human rights organisation released footage of Papuan police making an agreement with mine owners, Freeport, for protection the police chief has admitted his men are their payroll - sparking calls from the largest American labour union for an investigation into what it calls "Freeport's police bribery".<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Step Vaessen reports from Jakarta, Indonesia.
